Today was National Punctuation Day.
It was uneventful.
No comma drama or apostrophe catastrophe. I did not make any proclamations or exclamations. What's the point?
Instead, I recalled the good old days, when my seventh grade math teacher said to my classmate, "Question, Marc?"
A direct quote.
The single quotation marks are fuming because they weren't included in the above, and since I am not into air quotes.
The other day I was running to my class when I passed a race--the em dash. I paused to say hello and to put balm on my lips.
Or were they my ellipses...?
Happy National Punctuation Day!
(Seems only fitting that today I got my period.)
