Yesterday, twelve years from conception, The Calligrapher's Daughter was officially published. Happily, friends wrote and called to say they'd gone to their local bookseller. One friend who works at Powells in Portland OR, sent in this photo. Fun to see the book on display. Along with the excitement of pub day (and the requisite champagne) came the publication of the More.com interview, and news of mentions and nods for the book, including National Geographic's Traveler, New Books that Transport Us, Media BIstro's Featured Book of Color Pick of the Day, and a brief author interview in Kirkus Reviews' Big Book Fall Preview (page 11). And, two days before, it was Editor's Choice in The Denver Post Books section.
