For the past 47 years, during the third week in August, Cape Cod Writers Center has drawn together writers at various levels of experience. Over the years this annual gathering has evolved into a summer conference nationally recognized in professional writers circles. It now offers courses in fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, screenwriting, editing, humor and publishing. Literary agents and editors are in residence throughout the week and with faculty conduct individual manuscript evaluation/ mentoring sessions.
Craigville Conference Center, on a bluff overlooking Nantucket Sound, has been the unique setting for the Cape Cod Writers Center summer conference for the past 46 years. Charming Cape Cod cottages, many on the National Historic Register, and an historic post office, inn, and Tabernacle encircle the classic green, or small park, of the original 1871 church campground from which the village evolved. Four inviting guest houses (Manor, Lodge, Seaside and Inn) serve as lodging and classrooms with views of fresh water ponds and marshes, and Craigville's world-famous ocean beach.
I will be leading a five-day humor workshop that will include daily lectures, fun in-class assignments and read and critique sessions. Join me in one of the best conferences in the country.
