Dear Ernie Zelinski,

A lot has changed since then besides the economic challenges before the world. However life must go on with the spirit that the world lives on hope and passion for excellence. I am pleased to write to you about the WORLD HRD CONGRESS 2010 (http://www.worldhrdcongress.com/) which is scheduled from 11th – 13th February, 2010 at Taj Lands End, Mumbai. The theme for the World HRD Congress is " THE NEW HR CHALLENGE - Innovative talent strategies for tough times" .

Ø Overview

After the success of World HRD Congress 2009, we are pleased to announce the WORLD HRD CONGRESS 2010. The World HRD Congress will be an Executive Level Retreat in which participants will review Evolving Trends in HRM that could change their paradigm on leading people at work. It would provide an opportunity to acquire skills to maximize competencies and become a more knowledgeable contributor in the organization. Besides networking opportunities, the conference offers unique in-depth approaches to understanding important workplace issues that affect an organization's viability in today's fast-paced business environment.

The WORLD HRD CONGRESS is governed by Advisory Council which guides the strategic intent of the congress to its logical success. Your leadership and contribution to the field of HR is well known. The position that you occupy in the fraternity is strategic and iconic. As a thinker and doer you are a role model and a believer in change. On behalf of the Advisory Council, I am pleased to write to you that we wish to confer the "PRIDE OF HR PROFESSION AWARD" to you at the WORLD HRD CONGRESS 2010.

We will be also honored if you offer to " SPEAK & share knowledge" . This will be the privilege of several Professionals who would be happy to learn from you. I also believe that it is important to position you at the largest platform in the World. This will lead to advanced business opportunities.

May I request to confirm your presence and graciously agree to accept the award in person at the WORLD HRD CONGRESS 2010. A line in confirmation will be highly appreciated.

Awaiting for your kind response.

Thanking you in anticipation,

Yours Sincerely,

Jack Jones
Global Chairman
World HRD Congress 2010

If I wasn't so careful with my ego, this thing about the PRIDE OF HR PROFESSION AWARD is enough to make my ego grow even bigger.

But I think that it's a ruse to have me attend the conference at my expense so that they profit from my attendance.

When I find time, I will respond with an e-mail stating they can have the privilege of me speaking to them if they provide the same compensation as I got from KalDer (the National Turkish Congress on Quality) for my trip to Istanbul including first-class airfare, accommodations at the finest hotel, some accomplished person taking me to dinner every night, a driver with a new car assigned to me from 8 AM until Midnight, and a $3,000 speaking fee.

What do you think? Whatever you think, I always like to quote Oscar Wilde in these situations: "Many people have complimented me and I always feel so embarrassed — because they never say enough!
