Well, that's what they've told me, anyway. I've never been to New York, though my youngest daughter has been there twice for a high school choir competition. In fact, last year she experienced her fifteen seconds of fame, as she got her face front and center on national TV on the Today Show. Got to meet Al Roker and the whole shebang.
Anyway....my publisher at CQ Communications, who will be publishing The Opus of Amateur Radio Knowledge and Lore this fall, has told me in no uncertain terms that I MUST come to New York for a visit. He's a lifetime New Yorker and an inveterate spokesperson/cheerleader/plugger for New Yoik...I mean, New York. I suppose I'm now out of excuses, having landed a New York publisher.
So, I am pondering and plotting how to arrange a trip to the Big Apple in the not-too-terribly-distant future, and how I can best take advantage of the sojourn. Of course, I'll do the normal tourist thing, but since I'm going to be in the publishing center of the universe, I'm going to try to make some literary connections while I'm there, as well.
I'm open to all suggestions, news of New York literary events, whatever. I'll be sure to plug Red Room as well, should the opportunity arise.
