Boston's Anguish

The world has entered a new low with the tragic happenings at the Boston Marathon.Sure history has taught that many wars have been fought on thousands of battlefields over millennia. There have been many famous battles and wars. There were the war of American Independence--a pretty bloody war at that;the Napoleonic wars in Europe and the two World Wars. Many atrocities came out of these wars.War is not pleasant, but when conflict reaches a stage where terrorists can plant explosives at a sport event and eight year olds are killed and innocent spectators injured, then we have fallen to an all-time low.

If you want to fight a war then why should you target innocent people in a sport event? What honour is there in this? This act should be condemned in the strongest possible terms.

In the post 9/11 dispensation,Homeland Security had a right to be on its guard.A major event like the Boston Marathon should have seen a more careful and responsible approach to security. This is tantamount to a major breach in security and this kind of complacency might be frowned upon by an American public ,still hurting from the memories of 9/11.
