Vaya con Dios rest in peace for death has come with wings

And taken you from your people,

And so Simon Bolivar will applaud mi amigo,

Bolivar and Che Guevarra will stand at attention,

For them you did emulate in your homeland.

Sometimes egregious but at times convivial,

But in dying there is no enmity no hate,

So adios senor presidente adios mi amigo.

Oftimes there are those whose lives

Though short, can impact on their countrymen,so

El senor presidente will be remembered

Especially by the poor folks of Venezuela,

Whose lives El Comandante touched.
