For at Westminster Abbey on that great day,
They came with joy their homage to pay,
With pomp and pageantry for all to see,
The hearts and spirits of Britons swelled with glee.
Elizabeth's coronation was on the second of June,
Nineteen fifty three,it hadn't come too soon.
The Queen saw many changes in the world,
From British Empire to Commonwealth we're told.
She is a woman of wisdom in matters of state,
A graceful and charming lady, one you couldn't hate,
She has experienced sadness at times over the years,
And on occasion she has shed some private tears.
A matriarch who very much loves family and duty,
The Queen of England is a person of charm and beauty;
Defender of the Faith in certain Realms,
She is as steadfast and durable as the Thames.
So, for Elizabeth these few verses I write,
And pray that God with His great Might,
Will keep her in her purpose strong,
So,now you can join me in this song!
