Emmy is the author, co-author and editor of six books on existential psychotherapy, which have been translated into a variety of languages, including the bestseller Existential Psychotherapy and Counselling in Practice (2nd edition Sage, 2002). Her latest book is Psychotherapy and the Quest for Happiness (Sage 2008).
Influences
Philosophy from Socrates onwards, especially philosophers of freedom and existence such as Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, Sartre, de Beauvoir, Jaspers, Tillich, Buber, but also phenomenologists such as Husserl, Heidegger and Merleau Ponty.
