Country of Origin
In a country of immigrants, identity is negotiated through society, culture, requirements of jobs, bureaucracies, communities and families. Country of Origin illustrates how three women of different times and generations are confronted by elements beyond their control--systems that name them and change them. Two of those stories are presented here tonight.
Act One: By My Name Only
1921 Ellis Island
Marwa

Act Three: The Flower Girl
1959 Southwestern Pennsylvania
Elmaz
