Willow Bend Publishing is pleased to announce that two books in our popular Morgan Horse series have received high honors.  Annie: The Mysterious Morgan Horse and Shadow: The Curious Morgan Horse have each won national book awards! Annie: The Mysterious Morgan Horse (978-0-9709002-9-6) was made a finalist in the Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards before the title had even been published (advance copies were sent to the award committee for review).  The award, established to recognize books that ‘teach and inspire children’ is highly regarded within the children’s book publishing trade.  Just a few weeks after the book’s publication the judges announced their decision to award Annie as one of the winners.   The book received a bronze medal for its exciting, true-to-life horse action. Meanwhile, in another venue, Shadow: The Curious Morgan Horse (978-0-9709002-6-5) was entered in the Best Books 2007 Awards sponsored by USA Book News.   This organization publishes USABookNews.com, the premiere online magazine and review website for mainstream and independent publishing houses.  After careful consideration, the award panel honored Shadow as an award-winning finalist in the animals/pets category of the National Best Books 2007 Awards.    Annie and Shadow are the fifth and sixth books, respectively, in the Morgan Horse series and were competing with close to 1,000 titles for each award.  Topics from many varied subjects were represented and we are very proud that our horse titles rose to the top of each group.   All the books in our Morgan Horse series have now won at least one national award.  Blackjack: Dreaming of a Morgan Horse (0-9709002-3-6) and Frosty: The Adventures of a Morgan Horse (0-9709002-2-8) have both won the Children’s Choices award co-sponsored by The International Reading Association and The Children’s Book Council.  Rusty: The High-Flying Morgan Horse (0-9709002-4-4) received the Adding Wisdom award administered by Parent To Parent, an organization dedicated to promoting child friendly material.  Robin: The Lovable Morgan Horse was also recognized with this award as well as being named one of the top 20 products of 2006.  All books are available from Amazon.com, The American Morgan Horse Association (phone: 802- 985-4944) and the publisher at www.willowbendpublishing.com.
