Elizabeth Block has received numerous awards and grants in fiction, poetry, and non-fiction. Most recently she received the Doris Roberts/William Goyens fiction fellowship from the Christopher Isherwood Foundation and a grant from Poets & Writers. Penguin Press has also published Elizabeth's writing.  Her novel, A Gesture Through Time (Spuyten Duyvil Press), written under fiscal sponsorship of Intersection for the Arts, received multiple awards and grants as well. Her writing has appeared in/on Fiction International, The Wreckage of Reason, KQED The Writers' Block, TDR, The Brooklyn Rail, Chain, The San Francisco Bay Guardian, Eclectic Seizure Radio, The Santa Fe Art Institute Art In Public Transit project, Camerawork, One Less Magazine, and elsewhere. Her short films, which have screened extensively at museums, art venues, and film festivals, are distributed by Canyon Cinema. Elizabeth has performed her writing across the United States.
