Kampot, Cambodia
Blog Post by Edward Teja - Oct.23.2011 - 12:00 am
We took a few days to travel to the town of Kampot, Cambodia and decided to move there. In two weeks we will be settled in for a time. We found an old wooden house, in immaculate condition, on the riverfront. It isn't in the main part of town, which is still a collection of interesting French colonial buildings, but it will only take a few minutes to scoot into town on the motorbike. Best of all, it is a great place to write. It is quiet and picturesque.
Life there is simple, but elegant, far more so than where we have been living. We retain the atmosphere of the older houses, the vibrance of wood, and gain a bit of tranquility.
...the traveler, belonging no more to one place than to the next, moves slowly, over periods of years, from one part of the earth to another.
