Movie industry unions hold protest outside NBC Studios, Burbank in anticipation of the media event surrounding President Barack Obama's scheduled appearance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
The Screen Actors Guild favors a no vote on the current contract being negotiated. SAG asks for support from the "Teleprompter-In-Chief", Barack Obama. One sign reads "Obama Help AIG - NO / Obama Help SAG - YES".
United States president Barack Obama became the first sitting president to make an appearance on The Tonight Show. The president sat down with Jay Leno and discussed a number of pressing issues, namely those pesky AIG bonuses and foreign policy.
Some media reports are hanging onto Obama's joke about his bowling and the Special Olympics, but his press department has already issued an apology.
Here's the 'joke' he made, which seemed to have gone unnoticed by the crowd:
President: I bowled a 129. (Laughter and applause.)
Leno: No, that's very good. Yes. That's very good, Mr. President.
President: It's like -- it was like Special Olympics, or something. (Laughter.)
Leno: No, that's very good.
President: No, listen, I'm making progress on the bowling, yes.
A man, without the guidance of HIS Teleprompter, is a very sad thing to see, indeed.
