Author and award-winning freelance journalist Echo Garrett specializes in profiles, entrepreneurship, social and environmental issues, health, travel and home/garden design. She has written for 75 publications, including Business Week, Money, Health, Modern Bride, Family Fun, Success, Inc., and Weight Watchers as well as some of the nation's major newspapers (Atlanta Journal-Constitution, New York Times, Newsday, and Investor's Business Daily). Her work has appeared in online publications including abcnews.com and Gorp.com. Formerly a contributing writer to Money, Investor's Business Daily, Success, and The Atlanta Business Chronicle, Echo was a founding editor of the award-winning site Biztravel.com in charge of the Executive Getaways section. Echo began her professional career in New York City as an editor for McCall's and Venture magazines.

She recently completed MY ORANGE DUFFEL BAG: A Journey to Radical Change with Sam Bracken (www.sambracken.com to see the book trailer), which is currently being shopped for a publishing deal by her agent Michael Congdon of Don Congdon Associates, New York. Echo was selected out of a field of 25 writers nationally to write DREAM NO LITTLE DREAMS: How Clay Mathile transformed The Iams Company into the leader of the pack in the world of pet nutrition (the authorized biography of Clayton L. Mathile, former CEO/Chairman of The Iams Company published in 2005). She served as the ghostwriter of TALES FROM THE TOP by Graham Alexander (Nelson Business 2005), which was recommended by the Harvard Business Review Online. She wrote HOW TO MAKE A BUCK AND STILL BE A DECENT HUMAN BEING (HarperBusiness 1992), lauded by the Wall Street Journal, Inc. and several other publications. With her husband photographer Kevin Garrett (www.kevingarrett.com), she wrote the first and second editions of CARIBBEAN FOR DUMMIES.
