Over the years I've received many holiday gifts but two gifts stand out among the others as my favorite. The first gift was my marriage a week before Christmas to my husband, who dressed himself with a bow on his bathrobe because we couldn't afford presents.
As for the second gift, it was on a cold winters' night a couple of days after Christmas when I was awakened by the sharp pangs of labor contractions. Shocked and excited my husband rushed me to the hospital where we learned, much to our amazement, that it was time for my daughter to enter this world. The sight of her arriving, eyes wide open so that she could see everything around her, was like witnessing a miracle. My fondest memory is of her in the delivery room, her hand tightly gripping her father's index finger. Those are my two favorite holiday gifts, more precious than any item bought in a store anywhere.
