When I ran across this theme for a blog, my first thoughts were of the warm spring day not far from my parents' home in Minnesota when I found a five dollar bill in a parking lot. While my parents insisted I wait a week to see if someone claimed it (which was agonizing, believe it or not since I was, for all intents and purposes, broke), the feeling of relief and reward for having done the right thing was well worth it. Of course since then I've found many things; what I've cherished most, however, is the thanks of people when I return those things I've found to their owners. So I believe that the best thing I have found is that, despite differences in race, ethnicity and other things, gratitude for doing the right thing from other people is universal; that thankfulness and gratitude can be rewards in and of themselves. The gratitude and thankfulness of others for having done a good deal is the best thing I have found in this life.
