Writing Assistance Software?

I wanted to briefly speak about my search. I was reading over a few LinkedIn questions from other authors and writers, and it sprung in my mind that I needed to search for some software to aid in my organization of thoughts as I work on my first novel. I see that many of the coolest and most popular software is written specifically for the Mac, but I only have the Windows-based PC right now, and that is fine. Hence, I wanted to pick your brain for a moment or two in order to get your input/feedback about the products out there right now and to gain personal testimonials if appropriate and available!

Thank you for listening!

Plot Builder

One of the writing programs I've found to be helpful is called Plot Builder. I was reviewing a lot of other writing products and they all seemed to want to teach me how to write - something that while I'll admit I could use, I didn't want a software program to be doing it (kind of like trying to take notes while somebody is over your shoulder trying to teach you how to take notes). Also they tended to be noisy and wanted me to enter information so it could spit out suggestions, etc.

What I like about Plot Builder is that it didn't do anything like that - it basically gives you a place to store all your notes, ideas, and characters... along with a simple, but effective visual element to see where you would place chapters along a master storyline. Check it out - I've been enjoying it as a great organizational tool.
