I Think Much about Forgiveness...

I think much about forgiveness and inner healing. Is it just me or does our world seem full of people who carry resentments and hurts for so long that their identity – that is, who they are – is like hair that is braided and so tightly woven around the hurt that they have no identity apart from their pain?
You will know you have truly forgiven when you have exchanged your identity as “one who’s been wronged” for your identity as “one who’s chosen to live free,” as one who has chosen freedom. As Rumi reminded us, “Why would you remain in prison when the door is wide open?”
The open door is Divine Grace, of course.
But the decision to be free is always yours. Of course.
This is the secret to happiness.
You were born to walk with God, so why would you walk alone?”
