Douglas Kennedy may be the most successful American author that most Americans have never heard of. His books have sold in the range of a half-million copies each in Europe, where he spends much of his time. The French revere him and have made him a Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
Atria Books has been repackaging nine of Mr. Kennedy's 10 novels for a U.S. audience. "The Moment," his most recent work, came out last year. "Temptation," published in Britain in 2006, will appear this week for the first time in Mr. Kennedy's native land.
