My Favorite fictional detective is Father Brown by GK Chesterton. It is the only series of mysteries that I have read three times. I like how he looks at things from different angles. My favorite story is, "The Invisible Man." Father Brown talks about people who are "mentally" invisible. The people in our lives that we never see. Everyone was looking for a "suspicious" person but the killer came and went with nobody seeing him. Why? He was dressed as the postman. This has taught me to be more observant of people around me. I don't always succeed but I am much better than I used to be. Chesterton wrote five books and they can be found in "The Complete Father Brown." Contrasting him with the Father Dowling series on TV, Father Brown is always honest. He never lies or breaks the law. He also points out things like "What is a jury of our peers?" I recommend this series to a wide variety of audiences.
