I am an avid reader, writer, poet, gardener, dancer and mental health professional. I am fascinated by the human mind and the many ways it serves and protects the individual. I'm also a lover of culture in its myriad forms. While still an aspiring writer (I'm working on an autobiography), I have had blogs on various sites and, thanks to Author, Tim Wise, I just discovered this site through one of his blogs.
I'm African American and have been learning about my African heritage and the sacrifices that my African ancestors, and many others, made so that I can have the freedoms that I do. I'm actually exploring going back to school to get my doctorate (preferably the PsyD over the PhD) so that I can help empower the disenfranchised of this Country--might even have that as my thesis paper.
I love to write and to read, so I hope to write some things others might want to read. I feel a little bit intimidated being on the same page as the many writers I love to read; but, I think it will be fun to chat with some of them. What a privilege! And, they in turn, can learn from my perspective. Happy Reading and Writing, Everyone!
I'm very spiritual, energetic, creative, intellectual and humorous.
I enjoy reading, writing, sharing ideas, learning from others who are different from me.
I love to travel--I'd especially like to travel to England to see my Lovely, English Sis, Sian!
I'd also like to take my youngest son to visit Okinawa where he he spent the first 6 years of his life.
