As I sit here contemplating how to begin, my thoughts drift back to an evening in Chicago quite a few years ago. We had discovered a new FM station a couple of days before, a lovely selection of classical music and a small number of tasteful commercials. It was the beginning of the great reputation of WFMT. Those memories still fill me with nostalgia.
What I'm recalling in particular is Rita Jacobs. She was the announcer for the evening. It was Rita and her husband, Bernard, who were the skeleton crew. The station was their brainchild. When one of the selections finished, Rita simply spoke to the stillness of space as she asked, "Is anyone out there listening? My phone number is . . . " Her words had hardly hit the air waves when the switchboard lit up! My husband was one of the many appreciative callers.
So what's the point of all that? I'm new in Red Room. Is there anybody out there that knows it? Do you care? Want to give me a hint about what to do next? I'd appreciate hearing from you.

My Best Advice
Dolores,
Maybe I should start my radio show. This is my best advice. Just read only my blogs in RR and add your comments. You don't have to do anything else!
Heehee.
Okay, let me put some of my ideas here.
First, you can add your wonderful video.
Second, you can write an interesting blog time to time, and read others' blogs and add comments.
Third, when "Club" is restored, you can join the clubs you like, and you can also start "I Love Chaucer" club!
Commenting
Great advice, Keiko! As in any other community, the way to make friends is to reach out and say "hello." Here, that's done by commenting on other members' and authors' blogs and other content. Keiko's is a great place to start.
Huntington
I appreciate you
Thanks for the ideas, Keiko. Which video are you referring to?
I'll sure add pictures of the Chaucer celebration in October.
I'm about to add that as an official announcement of an event.
Hope you'll be able to attend this time--October 29.
video
Dolores,
I only saw one video of yours. Do you have many? Wow, you are on the way to be a Hollywood star!
I'll let you know my schedule through email.
Hello there
Thank you, Huntington. I became a bit worried that my humor failed and I was wondering what kind of apology I should come up with. Smiles.
video confusion
Hi, Keiko.
I have a CD. Is that what you saw?
And I know they put some Chaucer celebration stuff on youtube. Did you see something on youtube?
We'll get to the bottom of this, but for now I'm completely at a loss.
Love your smile
technology
Dolores,
Have you handed me a CD? I don't remember, but I think I clicked somewhere to watch it. Since I probably only clicked my mouse, I don't know the original medium. smiles. I don't know why but most people say video for film, tape, and movie. Don't you agree? People don't say, I watch a CD although I used to say it until my son corrected. By the way, CD and DVD look similar. You probalby mean DVD. DVD has much larger capacity for storage, so movie is on DVD, not CD.
If he were alive, your husband could explain better, and more on advanced technology. By the way, I'd like his friends to take a look at my other post, "200K 7010 Reassembler." I'm looking for a mainframe museum for software.
confusion continues
It was a CD I'm sure. But that's probably not important anymore.
My husband worked with computers when they had vacuum tubes and needed air-conditioning. He continued with them until he was at JPL as a consultant and worked at home with a connection to the computers at the lab. So many amazing advances in just a few years!
Well, I'll quit now. This is my 2nd try at this reply. First one disappeared!
Thanks for your interest.
