A mensche among men: Karl Benjamin
Karl Benjamin

Karl died last week. Immediately began the printed celebrations of his life. Our local newspaper called him a legend. He was. Beloved as a mentor to many, and admired by colleagues. He began as a grammar school teacher and, during his long life, developed into a world renowned artist.

Do you paint? It doesn't matter, really. I recommend to any creative soul a remarkable interview with Karl. The interviewer is great; her questions bring Karl to life. And, with the words are a grand selection of his works. You will see why he's called a wizard with color. All his works give us a new viewpoint of the world; several the illustrations I'm loath to leave; I want to stay with them, drink them in. See for yourself.

Here's the interview-- http://geoform.net/features/features_benjamin-1.html

Thanks so much for this, Dolores.  I confess my ignorance regarding Benjamin's work, and I'm so happy you introduced me to him.  The interview was fascinating, and I found myself particularly drawn to one painting: "Growing Forms."  But what an impressive body of work!
