There are many valuable lessons to be learned from Duffy Barkley is not a Dog (Tales of Uhrlin). Through the course of the book, Duffy learns the magic of love and friendship and how to utilize his strengths and weaknesses to help himself and others. How he treats the villain when he finally finds him will blow your mind. Wow!
Despite empathy about Duffy's handicap, this book will be treasured by children of all ages. In fact, because of his shortcomings, they will learn more about reality and the magic of imagination. I especially recommend it for ages eight to thirteen and am now going to run to my Kindle and order the sequel, Duffy Barkley: Seek Well (Tales of Uhrlin).
I'm impressed with Dixie Goode's debut novel, and you will be too. It's a real page-turner!
