The Third secret of Fatima revealed

There has been much written and much more asked about the Third Secret of Fatima.

And every time it comes up, I become embroiled with research. I guess it has been some time since this obsession has occurred because from my last endeavor, the third secret had not yet been revealed, even though it was promised we would find out in 1960.

And if you think I am obsessive, Laurence James Downey hijacked an airplane and demanded that Pope John Paul II make public the Third Secret of Fatima.

For those uninformed about Fatima,

In May of 1917 three children were hanging out by a grotto gathering firewood. The younger two took off while the oldest Lucia, hung back. She eventually relented to the call of her cousins Jacinta and Marto and sat on the ground to take off her shoes when she saw a vision. This got around to the town folks and pretty soon everyone was interested in what the girl saw. Eventually it was said it was the Virgin Mary. Now if you don't know what the Virgin Mary is, I'm not going to help you with that right now. Otherwise this will end up being just another Wikipedia Page. The place became quite popular with thousands witnessing the sun dancing in the sky hurtling towards earth.

Lucia was given three secrets by Mary. Two of the secrets were revealed in 1941 in a document written by Lúcia, at the request of José da Silva, Bishop of Leiria, to assist with the publication of a new edition of a book on Jacinta

The first secret:

*Our Lady showed us a great sea of fire which seemed to be under the earth. Plunged in this fire were demons and souls in human form, like transparent burning embers, all blackened or burnished bronze, floating about in the conflagration, now raised into the air by the flames that issued from within themselves together with great clouds of smoke, now falling back on every side like sparks in a huge fire, without weight or equilibrium, and amid shrieks and groans of pain and despair, which horrified us and made us tremble with fear. The demons could be distinguished by their terrifying and repulsive likeness to frightful and unknown animals, all black and transparent. This vision lasted but an instant. How can we ever be grateful enough to our kind heavenly Mother, who had already prepared us by promising, in the first Apparition, to take us to heaven. Otherwise, I think we would have died of fear and terror.

The Second Secret:

*You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace. The war is going to end: but if people do not cease offending God, a worse one will break out during the Pontificate of Pope Pius XI. When you see a night illumined by an unknown light*, know that this is the great sign given you by God that he is about to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war, famine, and persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father. To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the Consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart, and the Communion of reparation on the First Saturdays. If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she shall be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world.[6]

The Third Secret: Not so fast there.

*The third part of the secret was allegedly written down "by order of His Excellency the Bishop of Leiria and the Most Holy Mother" on 3 January 1944.[8] In 1943, Lúcia fell ill with influenza and pleurisy, which had killed her cousins. For several months, she was sure she was going to die. Bishop Silva, visiting her on 15 September 1943 while she was bed-ridden, first suggested that she write the third secret down to ensure that it would be recorded in the event of her death. Lucia was hesitant to do so, however. She was under strict obedience according to her Carmelite vows, but when she received the secret, she had heard Mary say not to reveal it. Because Carmelite obedience requires that orders from superiors be regarded as coming directly from God, she was in a quandary as to whose orders took precedence. Finally, in mid-October, Bishop Silva sent her a letter containing a direct order to record the secret, and Lúcia obeyed. In June 1944, the sealed envelope containing the third secret was delivered to Silva, where it stayed until 1957, when it was finally delivered to Rome.[9]

So John XXIII is not mentioned much in the texts regarding the secrets, but he had to open it, and it was his decision to keep it from us.

Damn him!

Pope Pope Paul VI that reckless perv who had it in his head that nun's needed to show more leg, opens the secret and decides the same.

Pope John Paul I opens it and then he dies. Weirdly fast, alone in prayer. The Pope is never alone, or so I thought.

Isn't that what all those fancy pants queens are for?

Pope John Paul II had the unmitigated gall to claim the secret was about him. The secret said he would be shot. I would love to have been a fly on the wall when his buddies told him the world wasn't convinced his shooting was important enough to be in a sacred arcanum and he needs to fess up.

Finally Pope Benedict reveals the third secret:
*The third part of the secret revealed at the Cova da Iria-Fátima, on 13 May 1917.

I write in obedience to you, my God, who command me to do so through his Excellency the Bishop of Leiria and through your Most Holy Mother and mine.

After the two parts which I have already explained, at the left of Our Lady and a little above, we saw an Angel with a flaming sword in his left hand; flashing, it gave out flames that looked as though they would set the world on fire; but they died out in contact with the splendour that Our Lady radiated towards him from her right hand: pointing to the earth with his right hand, the Angel cried out in a loud voice: 'Penance, Penance, Penance!'.

And we saw in an immense light that is God: 'something similar to how people appear in a mirror when they pass in front of it' a Bishop dressed in White 'we had the impression that it was the Holy Father'. Other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious going up a steep mountain, at the top of which there was a big Cross of rough-hewn trunks as of a cork-tree with the bark; before reaching there the Holy Father passed through a big city half in ruins and half trembling with halting step, afflicted with pain and sorrow, he prayed for the souls of the corpses he met on his way; having reached the top of the mountain, on his knees at the foot of the big Cross he was killed by a group of soldiers who fired bullets and arrows at him, and in the same way there died one after another the other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious, and various lay people of different ranks and positions. Beneath the two arms of the Cross there were two Angels each with a crystal aspersorium in his hand, in which they gathered up the blood of the Martyrs and with it sprinkled the souls that were making their way to God.

You are not going to convince me or anyone else with half a brain that this is the gist of this third secret.

No one goes to that much trouble over that much time to conceal something so trivial.

Now get this, before Benedict was Pope, he apparently had privy to the secrets and he wrote a paper on this:

*Along with the text of the secret, Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, (the future Pope Benedict XVI), published a theological commentary,[8][12] in which he states that:

A careful reading of the text of the so-called third 'secret' of Fatima ... will probably prove disappointing or surprising after all the speculation it has stirred. No great mystery is revealed; nor is the future unveiled. After explaining the differences between public and private revelations, he cautions people not to see in the message a determined future event:

The purpose of the vision is not to show a film of an irrevocably fixed future. Its meaning is exactly the opposite: it is meant to mobilize the forces of change in the right direction. Therefore we must totally discount fatalistic explanations of the “secret”, such as, for example, the claim that the would-be assassin of 13 May 1981 was merely an instrument of the divine plan guided by Providence and could not therefore have acted freely, or other similar ideas in circulation. Rather, the vision speaks of dangers and how we might be saved from them. He then moves on to talk about the symbolic nature of the images, noting that:

The concluding part of the 'secret' uses images which Lucia may have seen in devotional books and which draw their inspiration from long-standing intuitions of faith. As for the meaning of the message:

What remains was already evident when we began our reflections on the text of the 'secret': the exhortation to prayer as the path of 'salvation for souls' and, likewise, the summons to penance and conversion.

NO. Not convinced. Some thing's up, and our last quitter Pope said it clearly:

You see Lucia insisted to them it must be released by 1960, saying that, "by that time, it will be more clearly understood".  I'm sorry, I don't know about you, but that 'third secret' is not very well 'understood' by me.

And if things weren't confusing enough, this first text was to take over 4 pages of the written letter by Lucia. But there was the delivery guy who saw the priest who took the letter, hold it up to a light and declare “It is one small sheet of paper."  It turns out that there is a priest, Father Malichi Martin was also on the guest list of first readers, and he has been more forthright in giving up the dirt. It turns out this secret was an ominous political statement.

*"But in the end, My Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father (and the remaining bishops) will consecrate Russia to Me. Russia will be converted and a period of peace will be given to mankind."

In other words, in 1960 the church was to consecrate Russia to Mary or else...Sounds simple doesn't it, but the church had some political thing going in 1960 with Russia. Coincidence? I think not. The secret said it would be clear and what's more clear than that. Just say “Folks, parishioners atheists, whatever, we consecrate Russia to the Virgin Mary” and then have dinner.

But No. No one is going to tell the church what to do, even it's mom.

*Father Martin spoke and wrote often about the three secrets of Fatima and was an ardent supporter of Fr. Nicholas Gruner: "Father Gruner is fulfilling a desperately needed function in the ongoing perception of Mary's role in the salvation of our imperiled world. Father Gruner is absolutely correct that the consecration of Russia as—Our Lady desired, has not been executed"

Martin said concerning the three secrets of the Virgin Mary as Queen of Heaven in Fatima in 1917, she mandated the Pope of 1960 to consecrate Russia to her Immaculate Heart. The Russian orthodox church would then convert back. If the mandate were not followed, devastating war in the world and destruction inside the church (The Great Apostasy) would follow. He said that he stood outside the papal living quarters in 1960 whilst Pope John XXIII and Cardinal Bea and others were reading the document containing the third secret, and that, in order to assure Russian cooperation at the approaching Second Vatican Council, the Pope decided against the mandate. Later Paul VI and John Paul II also decided against it for various reasons.
We aren't finished yet, not by a long run. This last decision and reading convinced me. It was anticlimactic, yet made sense and seemed to give cause to keeping it a secret. The church doesn't want to consecrate Russia blah blah blah and now we are all doomed. Simple enough, but I am afraid it is much worse.

In a taped interview with Bernard Janzen, Fr. Martin was asked the following question: "Who are the people who are working so hard to suppress Fatima?" Fr. Martin responded, "A bunch, a whole bunch, of Catholic prelates in Rome, who belong to Satan. They're servants of Satan. And the servants of Satan outside the Church, in various organizations; they want to destroy the Catholicism of the Church, and keep it as a stabilizing factor in human affairs. It's an alliance. A dirty alliance, a filthy alliance, but a very good alliance."

...that the Vatican is concealing a one-page text of the Third Secret which predicts a great apostasy where Rome will "lose the faith and become the throne of the Antichrist."

Now things are starting to make sense.

If the secret written in the letter alludes to the fact that a sitting Pope could be the Antichrist, certainly this would be cause for that Pope and everyone thereafter to hide it less they be designated the new devil.

And believe it or not I find that acceptable. What would happen to the church, and all churches for that matter, if we were told that the Pope may be the Antichrist?

So now I know the third secret and guess what. Nothing has changed.
