Diane Sherlock is the author of DEAD WEIGHT, WILLFUL IGNORANCE, GROWING CHOCOLATE and WRESTLING ALLIGATORS. Her short work has appeared in Present Tense (Hubris Press), A Bird in the Hand: Risk and Flight (Outrider Press), The Citron Review, The Rumpus and MO+TH 1 & 2 (Bombshelter Press). She co-founded AnnotationNation.com and blogs on writing (dianesherlock.wordpress.com) and travel (theroadrisesup.tumblr.com). She co-owned a production services company for film and television before turning to novels and screenplays. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Antioch University, Los Angeles, one of the top five low residency programs in the country. Made an honorary Masai after drinking cow's blood in a small village in the Masai Mara last July, she lives in Los Angeles.
Prior to writing novels, she co-owned a production services company for film and television for 10 years, serving as co-producer and production manager for dozens of TV and film projects as well as commercials, PSAs and educational films. In addition to writing eight feature length screenplays, both independently and in collaboration, she’s written episodes of children’s shows for Saban Entertainment.
Currently, she is a co-founder and editor for AnnotationNation.com, a site for writers to annotate books in terms of craft and maintains a blog on the craft of fiction writing. She received her MFA in Creative Writing from Antioch University, Los Angeles in 2009. Born in La Jolla, California, she currently lives in Los Angeles.
