So first, before we begin the entertainment, how was your Thanksgiving? Our was very nice. Okay, making 10 pounds of Garlic Mashed potatoes in the camp trailer was a little entertaining especially since a lot of our utensils are boxed up, but they turned out okay. For what it's worth, that's 10 pounds of potatoes, a bound of shredded cheese, a bound of bacon, five (sometimes six) heads of roasted garlic, an onion and some milk or cream. Good stuff. No vampies on the horizon.
We go to a Thankgsiving Potluck at a fello professor's. We have for the last nine years and it's always really wonderful just to get together with friends and enjoy each other. Then had a skif of snow that night just to remind us that more is coming at some point.
I've been trying to dig back into Bitter Night. The problem is getting into the head of one of the characters. Just can't find him again. Need to figure that out. I've a feeling I ust may have to write regardless and see if I get better acquainted as I go, and then just revise it so it all works.
And now, snippetage, this from Bitter Night:
“Max beat you in the challenge tonight.”
“So you did that to her?”
Despite Niko’s quiet tone, Alexander could hear his rage. He was looking for someone to blame, and someone to hurt in revenge.
“No. The challenge was endurance. The witches tested themselves on us.”
“What happened to you?” Niko demanded belligerently.
He was really asking why Alexander wasn’t the one lying in a pool of his own blood, a half-step from death. And the truth was, the reason was Max.
