Best words in the English Language: The End
Yeah, I've been radio silent on the subject of the novel the past week. Since I didn't get it done by the 15th, which was my deadline. Kind editor has been, well, kind. I'm not sending it off yet, though. I'm done and not done. I need to go back and trim up a couple of things and then I should be good to go. It will be rougher than I like, but I'm a really really good revisor (I know, not a word, but cut some slack). Yesterday I wrote 7,000 words. Day before I wrote about 5,000. These are not normal days for me. I'm good if I hit 1500 or maybe 2000. But finally, FINALLY, the downhill momentum caught me.
This morning I wrote what I thought was the last 500 words. I needed to end the ending. If that makes sense. The last word and all that. And then I did that and realized, hmmm. I need another chapter. A very small one. But it is needed. So wrote that. And struggled with it because again, I needed to end the end. And just typing the end doesn't really work.
I think Keros might be coming back soon.
So here's the meter, just so I can look at it and be happy:
115477 / 115477 words. 100% done!
I'm diving into the cleanup now, and then I'm going to nap, and then I'm going to go to work on Bitter Night. Because I've been really wanting to get back to that story and of course, it's deadline looms as well. No rest of the wicked. Or even the marginally wicked.
