I write novels and short stories.
I was born in France and grew up in Los Angeles, California. I relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area where I have lived most of my life except for two years in Portland Oregon and currently live and work in Berkeley, California.
I studied writing with the ‘Dangerous Writers Group’ on the Oregon Coast with Tom Spanbauer in Portland and credit this group as being influential in my approach to writing. The idea is to write about those things which may be difficult or uncomfortable which theoretically have more of a potential to emotionally resonate with the reader. By combining this approach with a good story the writing moves beyond ‘therapy’ and more engaging to the reader reader.
In addition to writing I am also a fine artist, and have exhibited my oil paintings in galleries and museums throughout the West Coast. I hold a degree from the Academy of Art University in Fine Art and an additional degree from San Francisco State University.
