It was the continual raining night of September 10, 2009. I was taking my dinner and suddenly at that time my phone started ringing. It was the call of Vipin Sir, who is P2 ranked manager in HCL Infosystems ltd. When I attended his call, he told me about the Nokia CDN Project and its training schedule. He also made me confirmed that I had been selected for this project by NIC team for General Manager, Satyapal Mennon.
As per the schedule, next day, I reached to Office at 8 o’ clock correct but there was no one except me. Weather was rainy so many of engineers even the management couldn’t reach at time. I had also wet to the skin but mine satisfaction was that I followed punctuality. I started waiting for other engineers but there was no sign of anyone. I moved to my another office which is not so far than first one but office was closed that’s why I engaged in talking with security officer and in between one thought suddenly stroke in my mind to see again inside the first office. I moved towards the B-13, 14 address and found one girl while giving training to engineers. I was much disappointed because I had to late for attending the training while I was first one who came to office at right time but I could not get the advantage of my punctuality.
Well! Taking permission I attended training but training was not satisfactory. It was not a true training whilst actual training should be broad as well as deep. It is not a diatribe from my side to that girl, name Pooja, who trained us but after seeing the intricacy of the project, training was totally purposeless. In other way, that drama was just only for increasing the confidence of engineers and for making them familiar about project; nothing else but that girl was capable of being perceptible for her full support to engineers. She is a sincere and perfect engineer who performs her duty very well with full dedication but mature and professional too. She fell heartily in Nokia Project taking full responsibility on her shoulders and she was our guide also. Here, theoretical support was giving my her and other side, backbone of our team, name Anuj Khuller, was busy in making ghost DVDs of Operating System for engineers. Mandeep Gulati Sir made himself busy for allotting the sites to engineers. Everybody was working fast due to the time limitation problem but perfection was not there because of much pressure. All had come in under pressure because only three days had left to complete the project in which 67 sites were incomplete and only ten main engineers were able to solve out the problems of other engineers and freshers as well as of customers.
However, we people were ready to show our full potential power because Nokia was going to launch its Nokia Music on September 14, 2009 and prestige of company was on our shoulder to save.
After all, we were ready to face out the problem on customer place but truth was that we all were like a bull in a China shop.
I could not say anything about the freshers what problem they faced at customer place but it was confirmed that nothing happened good with them. After taking address of my customer, I went Yamuna Vihar. Wizard Digitech was my customer place where I attended problem related to setup. Seeing the condition of the setup, there was blizzard in my mind. As Pooja taught about the setup, everything was right opposite. That situation made the curd of my mind and along with this, customer was also not co-operative. I could not understand from where I should start my work. I examined UPS was physically damaged and some ports of extension board were not working properly. Battery of Laptop was also fully uncharged. User was also busy with his customers. At that time, I was totally helpless, hapless and hopeless. I phoned to Pooja and Mandeep Sir for discussion of this problem. They suggested me to get the problem registered on call board. I did it and having completed my work, I made my BCS report but could not take check list. I committed to my customer coming on next day.
Next day, I could not complete my commitment because our ghost DVD could not run properly at customer place. Again, Anuj Khuller immerged for making the CDs. No one could go to customer place till evening but we had moved to Head Office after afternoon. There we discussed our problems to each other that we faced on customer place. After 5:30, Pooja phoned us to moved on first floor for taking CDs. We followed her order and moved fast to first floor. While giving me ghost CDs she said, “Deepak, please moved fast to customer place and come back with signed checklist.”
I was in fix to decide what to do and what to say because our office time had over. First, I denied and brought her out about my problem but she cut me dead. This thing added fuel to fire.
I busted while frowning, “Listen to me! To listen to someone is also an important thing. What I am striving to make you make out you should understand it?” After that she listened to my problem. I told her that my customer would be busied with his customers. Thus, I would not do anything without his support.”
She said, “I can understand your problem but you have to go there because I want checklist. We have too much pending calls to complete so I hope that you will get checklist anyhow.”
I understood her problem so without hostelling her, I set off taking set of my CDs while giving her assurance.
I could cover half of my distance then my phone had rung. It was her call. Perhaps, she phoned me for taking the status. I made her clear about my right position. Then she said, “I have your tension, Deepak?”
I said, “Oh! Thanks but it is for me or for checklist?”
“Tension for both.”
“Okay but don’t fig for that. I will give you checklist anyhow so don’t take tension from my side.”
“Thanks.” Saying this she break the communication.
These types of tactics to get the work done by anyone easily that she used on me were baseless to bind me. I ignored her professional sorcerer’s nature because I had to complete my work which had been allotted to me and I did not have any need to over react on her hallucination nature. I accept she has a good leadership property but I am leader among leader; birth leader. However, she continuously kept up telecommunication with me.
When I reached to customer place, I checked everything again after charging the battery of Laptop. Now everything was working fine until unless the problem of UPS and extension board was still pending.
Again she phoned me to know about the status of checklist. I told her that it would depend on the mood of customer.
Again same statement she repeated, “Deepak, please come back with checklist. I trust that you can take checklist easily. I know you can also take sign on Do’s and Don’t list. Please get it anyhow.”
I made her assured and during talking with her, I had taken sign on both the lists with stamp. I was happy after completing my call and later I gave her status of my success through phone.
Having finished my work, I was back to my room but again I was wet to skin.
I handed over checklist to Mandeep sir next day in office and took other site.
He allotted me site of Gurgaon region. He hired taxi for engineers so that we could reach at time.
I was not so far from Gurgaon then Mandeep Sir phoned me and said to make contact with Manglesh. After that, I phoned to Manglesh then he gave me address of Advent Telle Cell in Matropolitan Mall.
I reached there and did my job fast and took sign of customer on checklist. There I found problem of Blue dump so I got that problem registered on call board. That call was completed by me easily and then after Manglesh messaged me to go to two different customer places.
First I went to Ashraya Communication and could not get checklist because of TV Tuner Card problem. I told this thing to Mandeep Sir and moved towards the Imperial Electrical Agency. I got success there. I have visited my all three sites and after that I phoned to Mandeep Sir for next place.
Again he said, “Call to Manglesh.”
I followed her instruction and got site in Sec-14. I moved there and found net problem but after troubleshooting deeply the USB networking port had jammed due to the reason of virus. I discussed that problem with Anuj Khuller Sir but there were not any way to solve out that problem permanently due to the fact of weak Antivirus.
We were working for getting the license of Symantec antivirus for this problem. After resetting the Winsock, I was back to home taking sign on my checklist. Everything was working fine except that problem but I solved that problem temporarily. However, I made my senior alert for this big problem.
I reached home after 2:00 am night and prepared dinner. After taking dinner, I took very sound sleep and awoke early in the morning while I felt need of proper sleep but I have given time to one person. I didn’t go to office to take another site because I had appointment with Dr. Pradeep Gupt who is General Secretary of NCR Kavi Sabha. I reached to meet him and there I also met with Dr. Indraraj Sanger who is President of NCR Kavi Sabha. By the way, I wanted to take membership of kavi Sabha that’s why it was very important to meet them. Thus, I didn’t want to attend any call. Though, I had discussed about this matter with Pooja and Anuj Khuller Sir. After that, Mandeep sir made a contact with me through phone for going to customer place. Although, Sunday is our off day but engineers reached to customer place to over too much pending calls. Mandep Sir gave me address of one customer and I assured him to go there but I could not go. My roommate phoned me to reach Nizamuddin. He was coming from Agra with heavy luggage that’s why he called me for help. After one hour, I phoned to Sir for making him confirmed not to attend call of that place and apologize for not completing my commitment. I told him my problem then I moved back to my room. I did some preparation for him and moved to Nizamuddin. Due to this problem, I could not provide my service.
Saturday was my last day in Nokia CDN Project.
September 14, 2009, means next day, I joined my NIC team again because my team allotted three days for this project to me. But on September 14, Nokia music launched successfully while little bit problems were still there on customer place. We are working for solving this problem but hard work of engineers kept up the reputation of HCL Infosystems ltd.
My thanks to all members of this project who supported me especially Anuj Khuller, Pooja, Mandeep Sir, Taukir, Salik, and Manglesh. Before ending this article, I give heartiest regards and Thanks to Anuj Khuller Sir who gave proper support and came to know my problem properly. He is very gentle and helpful person and also happy-go-lucky while other side, Pooja has easily annoyed nature but helpful too. Mandeep Sir also helped me in every difficult condition so again I thank to all and want to say sorry to Mandeep Sir not giving my services further in this project.
