Revolution Came Knocking

Revolution Came Knocking
    by Debra Louise Scott

She was long & lean
like a defiant willow standing alone in the crowd

Long arms blew with sinewy music
Long nose hovered over willowy lips

Smiling,  the calypso entered her soul
and she drank full its happy poison

Revolution came knocking
offering a more tangible food

Freedom sat down
and surrendered.
