In order of title precedence:
1. LitCrawl! So, who's doing Litquake this year? I'll be helping close the place this Saturday, as one of the music writers on the Writers Take The Mic panel moderated by Jack Boulware. It happens at Amnesia, on Valencia Street, at half past eight Saturday night. I'm on with an incredible collection of musicians and writers. This is going to rock - you really don't want to miss it.
2. Asskicking! Actually, a service I require right now. I have maybe a chapter and a half left on the sixth Kinkaid, Uncle John's Band, and the world keeps getting in my way. Plus, I have two music reviews to write up. One's easy: Julian Dawson's new CD, Deep Rain, is a pleasure and a privilege. Julian's biography of Nicky Hopkins is about done, is being repped and shown around, and hopefully will have a deal sealed in time for the book to hit stands sometime around the fortieth of anniversary of Woodstock, next summer. There's also a nifty DVD about Donovan, which I need to rewatch and write up.
So, any spare kickass lying around, please aim at the universe on my writerly behalf.
