I read David’s poetry to teach me more about enjambment and the power of individual words, and how less is really more. But what I appreciate most is how David’s style shows his trust in his readers. His confidence in our ability to ‘get it’ allows him to push his art even further. But you don’t get lost in his poetry; you can find your own way. This is not to say it isn’t challenging, but in reading David’s work you create your own challenge. It’s not forced upon you.”
