TIME OF SINGING

“I have always admired David Radavich’s poetry, so this will not be an unbiased review. In this world of words multiplied on top of words, the form of his work — his sparse short lines and stanzas — invites the reader to enter a different world where what is said allows her to breathe and take in what isn’t said. I read David’s poetry to teach me more about enjambment and the power of individual words, and how less is really more. But what I appreciate most is how David’s style shows his trust in his readers. His confidence in our ability to ‘get it’ allows him to push his art even further. But you don’t get lost in his poetry; you can find your own way. This is not to say it isn’t challenging, but in reading David’s work you create your own challenge. It’s not forced upon you.”
