David Munro's short film Bullethead about an East German child surgically altered to become a champion luge racer premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and went on to screen at over three dozen festivals worldwide. Subsequent short films First Love, Second Planet and Compulsory Breathing won Best Of Show awards at numerous festivals and were called “tour de force” and “visionary” by critics. David was named “One Of 25 Filmmakers To Watch” by Filmmaker Magazine and his first screenplay Life For Beginners was a finalist in the Nicholl Screenwriting Competition. His debut feature Full Grown Men starring Matt McGrath, Judah Friedlander, Alan Cumming, Amy Sedaris and Debbie Harry, premiered at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival and will be released theatrically this Spring as the winner of the 2007 IndieWIRE: Undiscovered Gems award, sponsored by the Sundance Channel in partnership with Emerging Pictures and The New York Times. David is represented by The Gersh Agency and is an original member of the San Francisco Writers Grotto, which Entertainment Weekly called “one of the few solid literary communities outside the media centers of New York and Los Angeles.”
