I've been listening to the usual rhetoric from politicans and their ilk with a few others mixed in for good (or bad) measure. Once again, Warren Buffett has declared that he's not paying enough in income tax. He doesn't think it's fair. A few celebrities have gotten on the bandwagon. I'm sick to death of it. They whine as if they had no other choice, as if the system were unfairly balanced in their favor.
Here's the bottom line for me: Instead of whining and inciting new ways to tax citizens, why not be a grown-up, do the adult thing. If you really want to pay more in taxes, cut a check to the United States Treasury. Really. It's that simple. They won't turn you down.
If you want to change the tax structure, initiate a Flat Tax, something all of us can easily do without having to pay big bucks to an accountant to figure it out for us.
Grow up and stop whining. Do something positive. Put your money where your mouth is.
