Daniel Yaryan is a devout disciple of the "Beat Friar" Brother Antoninus (William Everson) and is also the grandson of "Big" Ray Yaryan (founder of the original Ghost Riders Motorcycle Club in 1938). Bookended between these two key influencial figures in Yaryan's life are a plethora of literary spines emblazened with names, familiar and unfamiliar, who have prompted Yaryan to scribble his galactic love graffiti.
Much more important than the book authors on his shelf are the inspirational words of the unknown "real" poets who have shared their magical perspectives with Yaryan over the years through both the written and spoken word alike. It is this love of the essential art of sharing such stories and expressions through tribal custom that has prompted Yaryan to help spearhead several community events in San Francisco and beyond. He is the founder and producer of the popular poetry series Sparring With Beatnik Ghosts and also created a tribute event in 2008 to honor the late poet Brother Antoninus at The Beat Museum in San Francisco (in conjunction with the induction of Antoninus into the museum with "The Beat Friar" exhibit).
