Doll's Eyes
Blog Post by Daniel B. Silver - Aug.02.2009 - 7:31 pm
My baby got doll’s eyes
And it’s easy to see
That even though they’re wide open
They don’t see me
My baby got doll’s eyes
And she can’t barely breathe
She’s been coughing up blood
All over my sleeve
My baby got doll’s eyes
And there’s glass in her hair
The night smells of airbag
Noxious gas fumes in the air
My baby got doll’s eyes
And pale, cold, white feet
Ejected from her car seat
Out onto the street
My baby got doll’s eyes
And her skull is bashed in
Her nose is flayed open
So is her chin
My baby got doll’s eyes
And it’s clear to tell
That she ain’t breathing
And her heart is dead still
My baby got doll’s eyes
And no matter my tact
I just can’t make it better
I just can’t bring her back

Song or Poem?
It's a poem about a bad night to be a paramedic. It might be a song one day. Thanks for reading.
