I have an author friend who uses the term "Wooie Wooie" (with proper emphasis on the 'ooie ooie') to describe connections which should not happen.
I have written a novel, KAFKA IN THE CASTLE, which 'fills in' his missing diary entries for two years (he either didn't write them or - more likely - destroyed them). There is also another period of his life (his last two years) which are nearly empty of diary entries. I have thought that I would eventually also write a novel for this period of time.
There is supposedly a series of his writings from this period which is 'missing'. He lived in Berlin most of his last year, and first the Nazis and then the Communists are assumed to have 'hidden' these writings away. I have tried to get information about these 'supposed' writings for years.
Just recently, through a series of unintended links about Kafka, I discovered there is an academic group going to Berlin this June specifically in search for these writings. They were looking for interested people to join, but I found out way too late to manage that. However, there is talk of going again next year (I assume if nothing is found this year). Nothing could be more tailor-made for my interests.
