Kafka Adaptation Comes To Wales At Venue Cymru In Llandudno

It seems as if Kafka, in numerous forms, travels around to the stages of the world. I wonder if his books precede him, or follow in his wake.

The Trial comes to Venue Cymru in Llandudno

BERKSHIRE-BASED Blackeyed Theatre Company brings Steven Berkoff’s acclaimed adaptation of The Trial by Franz Kafka to Venue Cymru in Llandudno tomorrow (Friday).

The Trial is the story of Joseph K, an estranged citizen who finds himself the victim of anonymous governing forces beyond his control.

Deceived by authoritarian power, he is relentlessly hunted down for a crime that remains nameless. Finding himself arrested and awaiting trial, K sinks deeper and deeper as he tries to escape through twists and turns that are at once shocking, thrilling and funny.

More than 40 years after its first performance, The Trial has become a classic work of 20th century theatre and a widely studied syllabus piece.
