Kafka requested, at the original publication of The Metamorphosis, that the insect not be shown on the cover of the book. So, it is conceivable that Herr K. might just have his nose a tad out of joint if he went to see this movie rendition of his story. However, he did love going to the movies, and all is fair in love and bedbugs. (A bit of a pun on my part, for Kafka does not name the type of insect: "One morning, when Gregor Samsa woke from troubled dreams, he found himself transformed in his bed into a horrible vermin.")You may be assured that this feature film does depict a 'horrible vermin'. What's not to enjoy?
