Cynthia Carbone Ward is an award-winning teacher and writer whose work has appeared in Santa Barbara Magazine, Voices in Italian Americana, the Brown Literary Review, and other journals and magazines. She is a regular contributor to The Santa Barbara Independent and is the author of How Writers Grow, a book for teachers published by Heinemann press in 2006. Her new collection of essays, The Savage Faith of the Secret Heart will be out this summer.
