2008 Library Laureates Dinner: Noir in the City
18 Apr 2008 7:30 pm

There are a million stories in the naked city; at this year's 12th Library Laureates Dinner, you'll hear some of the best. On Friday, April 18, 2008, Friends of the San Francisco Public Library will host its annual literary gala toasting the best and the brightest Bay Area authors to this year's theme—Noir in the City.

This year's impressive list of honorees includes Daniel Handler, Eddie Muller, Andrew Sean Greer, Ruthanne Lum McCunn, and Michael Krasny, and authors in every genre of literature.

The 2008 Laureates Dinner will transform the Library's beautiful affinity centers into intimate, conversational salons where authors and guests will mingle with shady characters, gunsels and molls. The event will begin with a reception, followed by an elegant and stylish dinner, catered by Paula LeDuc.

Join us for the 2008 Library Laureates Dinner and relish San Francisco's rich legacy of noir; unleash your inner/ femme fatale/ or private eye for the evening (high heels and gumshoes admired but not required). This unforgettable evening promises fine food, mysterious company and dangerous conversation with outstanding writers—all in support of one of our City's most dynamic and transformative institutions: the San Francisco Public Library.
