I wrapped up my western novel The Last Hunt, although not without a little last minute tweaking. My perfectionism is, I think, eventually going to drive me to the looney bin and politely escort me inside. Always trying for the perfect book, right down to the last semi-colon...or maybe two dashes would be better...
Finishing the novel freed me to, at last, tackle some new writing and I wasted little time concocting a rather good review of the latest adaptation of John Le Carre's Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy (starring Gary Oldman).
And then today I was gifted with one of the best poems I've written for quite some time. Just sort of...came to me. The way the good ones do. No big fanfare, a smooth and (largely) painfree delivery.
The weather is beautiful, a new book weeks from release, the words are flowing...what more can I ask for?
I am truly blessed.
