Evere since I upgraded my old Mac, I've been offering daily thanks to the Creator for inspiring such a wondrous device as the iMac. Which can do almost anything, except balance my bank account (a feat, methinks, that would stump even the latest supercomputer).
I've used it as a word processor, a film editing studio...but I especially love being able to create music with Garageband. What a treat that has been for a frustrated musician, someone who loves good music but couldn't keep time if he swallowed a metronome. Know what I mean?
I had nothing to write yesterday so I decided to do a little musical noodling. Came up with a couple of really decent little offerings, including a spoken word piece called "The Midnight Detective".
I am, as previously mentioned, an enormous fan of old private eye movies, film noir; I revere authors like Raymond Chandler and James Crumley. And so consider "The Midnight Detective" a tribute, a nod, a courteous bow to shadowed rooms, plumes of cigarette smoke, dangerous dames and wiseguy shamuses.
Drop by my main blog at Beautiful Desolation to give a listen to "The Midnight Detective".
It's great fun and, needless to say, absolutely free.
