It's a strange tale but it must be told.
A week or so ago I posted on my blog about an obscure kids' TV show from the late 1960's called "Robot Boy". Made on the cheap...and the star of the show was an ordinary, store bought windup robot. Yes, you could get away with such things 40 years ago. I formed a attachment for the show and last week, when I reflected on it from the viewpoint of 47 year old man, I was startled by the responses I received.
Numerous notes from people who recalled the show and then, amazingly, a communication from Wes Chambliss. Wes's dad shot Super 8 footage of "Robot Boy" while on the set and these few feet of film are all that remain of the series (the original tapes were erased and reused years ago--common practice at the time). Wes kindly gave his permission for me to share this "lost" footage with fans of the show (or the curious) and you can find it by going over to my site.
See you there!
