How would you like an advance look at the cover art of my next novel, Of the Night?
Australian artist Adrian Donoghue came up with the original image and our designer, Chris Kent, adapted it and created a "look" that I absolutely love.
Of the Night is part of a cycle of tales and novels set in the fictional metropolis of Ilium, a cross between a decaying rustbelt city and Lovecraft's Arkham. Anything can happen there...especially once the sun sets. Look for the book sometime around mid-October.
It's a followup (though not a direct sequel) to my previous novel, So Dark the Night.
Check out that cover--this is what indie writing and publishing is all about. Putting control over every aspect of a book into the hands of its creator, the person who truly knows and understands it best.
You think Tor or HarperCollins could have come up with a better cover? If you do, pal, you're dreaming...
Note: If you wish to see a larger version of the cover, go to my main blog over at WordPress.
