The threshold between late autumn and early winter is the open door for birth, for new life, new time, new light.   As we greet the Child of the returning sun, the Child born to a poor family from Nazareth, the Child coming toward us in the New Year, we are met by the mystery of divine life in each of us, life that insists on birth, death and rebirth.
