Christopher W Gortner's Biography

C. W. Gortner is the critically acclaimed author of The Last Queen, a novel of Juana la Loca. His next novel, The Confessions of Catherine de Medici, will be published by Ballantine Books in 2009.  St Martin's Press recently acquired the first three novels in his Tudor spy series, The Spymaster Chronicles; the first book, The Secret Lion, will be published in January 2011.

Half-Spanish by birth, he holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Writing, with an emphasis on historical studies, from the New College of California and has taught university courses on women of power in the Renaissance.
