This has been a hectic couple of weeks. With a second novel in the Iskander series slated for release this January, we've run right down to the wire, with software problems, extra edits, and changes to the cover. But you can check my author page at Double Dragon http://www.double-dragon-ebooks.com/eAuthor.php?Name=Christopher%20Hoare and find the cover of "The Wildcat's Victory" is below my bio. I'll add it to this site when all the set-up is finished.
I will be doing a virtual book tour for it in March. For those not familiar with the format, this kind of tour takes place entirely online. No gas or rubber is burned, no motel rooms used, and the author's pocket is not emptied. I will be appearing as a guest blogger and interviewee on almost twenty sites during the month as well as giving two (so far) podcast interviews. I've not tried this before, so it's is a new experience for me. I'll write about it here, so check back often in March to learn how things go.
Talking of things going, it seems my transportation isn't. When my wife was reversing the Explorer into the yard this afternoon -- through the snowbanks -- the 4WD quit. Damned silly electric actuators -- if it had locking hubs it would still be going. I went out to figure things out and park it in the garage, but there's nothing but 2 wheel drive, and reversing through a foot of snow results in veering off in every direction but the one I want.
Wouldn't you know? The first deep snow of the winter and the very feature I need quits. I have to phone the Ford dealer in the morning. I've been feeling very righteous all month, because I can justify owning an SUV -- nothing else could get down the driveway to my garage -- and now it can't. I do have a set of 15" tire chains -- dating back a few years to the time a 4X4 survey pickup lost its front drive, but I think I'll shovel instead of fitting them. I'd feel pretty silly putting on tire chains every time, just to cover a hundred feet to the road.
